Dicki Kennedy, Animal Rehab & Conditioning Center, Achieves Certifications in Animal Chiropractic and Canine Massage
August 11, 2014SIMPSONVILLE, SC – Dicki Kennedy, owner and founder of Animal Rehab and Conditioning Center, the first veterinary rehab clinic in the Upstate, has received additional certifications in animal chiropractic and canine massage. The chiropractic certification, issued by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, involved seven weeks of classes and clinics, with written comprehensive and clinical exams. The massage certification, issued by Equissage, involved written comprehensive exam along with video demonstration exam.
“During almost ten years in general veterinary practice, I became very interested in the specialty of canine rehabilitation,” says Kennedy, “and pursued specialization in the University of Tennessee’s rehabilitation program. Since achieving my certification as a canine rehabilitation practitioner, I’ve been steadily adding certifications in various treatment modalities, including certifications as South Carolina’s only veterinary pain management practitioner, acupuncture, as well as the latest two certifications in massage therapy and chiropractic. These adjunct certifications have added a variety of ‘tools in the toolbox’ for my interests in rehabilitation, pain management, conditioning, and quality of life for dogs.”
Kennedy graduated from the University of Georgia with her DVM, then served for five years as chief of staff in a corporate veterinary hospital, and four years as the owner of a general practice veterinary clinic. In 2013 Kennedy founded Animal Rehab and Conditioning Center, the first veterinary rehabilitation facility in the Upstate of South Carolina. The center treats working and sporting dogs, older dogs that need to recover pain-free mobility, dogs with injuries that don’t warrant surgery but require focused treatment, and dogs that have had surgery and need rehabilitation to return to normal activities.
