Fostering Great Ideas: re-imagine foster care

At Fostering Great Ideas, we view foster care through the eyes of children in foster care. We respond to deep emotional and academic needs with innovative programming that says “You matter, your family is important, and our community will come together, to benefit you.”

What do these children want most? What relationships are important? How hard is it to succeed academically, and in a new foster placement, when dealing with being removed from home, your pet and all your friends? These are the questions we ask and respond to with solutions.

Without this level of curiosity and problem solving, the statistics remain dire. While a small set of children, those aging out of foster care at 18-21 go homeless at a 22% rate, graduate from high school at the lowest rate of any other sub-set, and are the most human trafficked group of any.
