Discover Local Resources to Get Your Business off the Ground

April 30, 2019

With National Small Business Week approaching (Sunday, May 5 – Saturday, May 11), Richland Library wants to showcase some upcoming opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business owners in our community.

There are three planned programs at our Main location (1431 Assembly Street) that look to connect participants with important, business-related resources and services on a local scale. The best part – they’re free and open to the public. Please join us on the following dates:

Small Business Superstars Panel is set for 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, May 6. Start or grow your business venture by getting advice from those who have been there.

Momtrepreneurs Panel – Secrets to Juggling a Small Business while Raising Children is scheduled for 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, May 20. Starting or growing a business while raising children can be difficult. Hear secrets from moms, in various fields of entrepreneurship, who have managed to make it work for their families.

Start Your Home-Based Business is slated for 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 26. Learn how to get your business up and running from Richland Library’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Bayne Dangerfield, and SCORE’s John LaFond. They plan to cover business set-up structures, the pros and cons of working from home, pricing your products or services for profit, the basics of creating a website, and online marketing techniques.

Please register in advance online at richlandlibrary.com or by calling 803-929-3401.

For more personalized recommendations, be sure to set up a one-on-one appointment with Dangerfield during her weekly office hours.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs nationwide each year.
