Dixon Hughes Goodman Partner Named Chairman of SC Board of Accountancy

Mark Crocker, CPA and partner at Dixon Hughes Goodman was recently elected chairman of the South Carolina Board of Accountancy. Board members are appointed by the governor to be the regulatory authority that issues licenses to over 6,000 Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the state of South Carolina. Crocker was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley to be a part of the nine-member board in August of 2011.

Crocker is a founding partner of Dixon Hughes Goodman, and has been instrumental in its growth, as it has become the largest CPA firm headquartered in the southeast. Crocker’s duties include associate development, recruiting, business development, community relations and coordination of client services.

Crocker is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. Within the professional community, Crocker has held positions with the American Institute of CPAs, the SC Association of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants and was the president of the Piedmont Chapter of CPAs.

In addition, Crocker serves the community as shown through his involvement with organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Community Foundation, and the Upstate Children’s Museum to name a few.
