Dorchester County announces appointment of Adam Davis as Deputy Administrator of Operations
July 1, 2024Dorchester County is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Adam Davis as the new Deputy Administrator of Operations, effective Monday, July 15, 2024.
As Deputy Administrator of Operations, Mr. Davis will oversee Facilities and Grounds, Parks and Recreation, Capital Projects, and Fleet Maintenance. His comprehensive background in these areas, coupled with his commitment to excellence, positions him to make significant contributions to the county’s operations.
Mr. Davis brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He began his career with Dorchester School District Two, where he held various positions, including Facilities and Grounds Manager and Project Manager. These roles provided him with invaluable experience in facilities and grounds management.
Following his tenure with the school district, Mr. Davis served as Parks Director for the City of Walterboro for four years. In this capacity, he was responsible for day-to-day operations, parks maintenance, budget preparation, and supervision of parks staff. His department managed the upkeep and improvements of all city parks, facilities, and public grounds.
Mr. Davis then took on the role of Director of Operations and Facilities for Dorchester School District Four, where he worked closely with the superintendent. He supervised custodial operations, grounds maintenance, security, asset management, and more. He was also responsible for capital projects, facilities planning, and emergency management.
Most recently, Mr. Davis served as Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Chester County School District and Chief Officer of Operations (COO) for Berkeley County School District. In these roles, he managed capital improvement projects, maintenance, transportation, safety and security, and information technology. He worked on new construction and facility improvements, ensuring compliance and strategic planning.
Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Administration degree and a Master of Public Administration from Liberty University. A Summerville High School alumnus, he is well-acquainted with Dorchester County and its community.
