Dorchester EMS hosts annual “Santa in an Ambulance” program

Unwrapped Toys or Monetary Donations Accepted Until December 15^th

Santa is coming to town with lights and sirens, elves, and presents to visit some of the children who were treated and/or transported by Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in 2025.

Throughout the year, Dorchester County EMS has transported several critically injured/sick pediatric patients. Many of these patients may have experienced a traumatic event this year and the “Santa in an Ambulance” program fosters joy and hope during a stressful time in their lives. This special program, now in its 13^th year, gives Dorchester County EMS the opportunity to check in on their patients while providing holiday cheer alongside the big guy himself, Santa!

The “Santa in an Ambulance” program is funded by monetary and toy donations. All monetary donations are used by Santa’s EMS Elves to purchase and wrap gifts for each of the patients. New, unwrapped toys can also be donated.

Monetary donations can be made via a check made payable to Dorchester County EMS (please include “Santa in an Ambulance” on the memo line) and mailed to:

Those who would like to donate a gift can drop off new, unwrapped toys, for ages newborn to 17 years old for female or male children, at the County Medic 5 Station (109 Dutch Krakeel Road, St. George) or the EMS Headquarters facility (821 West Fifth North Street, Summerville). Toy donations will be accepted until Monday, December 15, 2025, at 5 p.m.

Santa and his EMS elves will be delivering Christmas cheer to the homes of their special patients on December 19, 2025.
