Double Your Impact: Help Complete the Female Transitional Home at Open Door Christian Center

The Open Door Christian Center (ODCC) in Clinton, SC, has received a $4,500 matching grant challenge, giving you the chance to double your donation and make twice the difference! We have until the end of August to meet this challenge, and every contribution made—up to $4,500—will be matched, effectively doubling the funds raised for this critical project.

The funds will be used to complete the renovation of a female transitional home in Clinton, a much-needed resource for women in recovery. Laurens County currently lacks a dedicated transitional home for women, making this project essential. ODCC has been working on the home for over a year, with support from various churches and local contractors. Chestnut Ridge Baptist Men’s group has been instrumental, with assistance from Lydia Mill Church of God, Victory Worship Center, and local contractors providing expertise.

This four-bed transitional home will offer a safe, supportive space for women graduating from ODCC’s recovery program, with potential to assist other women in Laurens County as the need arises.

ODCC acquired the two homes in 2008 through a tax sale, and the first female transitional home opened on September 2, 2009. The second home, previously used for storage, began renovation work last year. After meeting with Chestnut Ridge Baptist Men’s group, work began in earnest, and the project is now nearing completion.

Charles Brewington, director of ODCC, shared, “This transitional home is vital to the ongoing support we offer women in recovery. With the community’s help, we are closer than ever to completing this project and providing a safe haven for those who need it most. Your generosity can make a life-changing difference.”
