Downtown Eats & Sweets Set to Open on the Square in Laurens

A new locally owned dining option is coming to downtown Laurens as sisters-in-law Carol Brown and Christie Finley prepare to open Downtown Eats & Sweets on the Square.

Located at 128 S. Public Square, the new café is expected to open mid- to late February, pending the completion of inspections. The duo brings together a shared passion for food and hospitality, combining home-style cooking with freshly made sweets.

Brown, who has long dreamed of owning her own café, is known for her love of cooking and feeding people good, comforting food. Finley has taken up baking in recent years and enjoys creating a variety of desserts and candies. Together, they plan to blend their talents into a welcoming spot for both savory meals and sweet treats.

While the full menu is still being finalized, the owners say there has already been strong interest from the community—particularly requests for classic “meat and three” options.

Downtown Eats & Sweets has launched a Facebook page where customers can follow along for updates, including menu announcements, sneak peeks, and a confirmed opening date as it gets closer.
