Dreher Graduate Receives National Merit Scholarship
July 16, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – Jeremy A. Day, a Class of 2014 graduate of Dreher High School, is among the 29 South Carolina students who have been named as winners of the highly prestigious National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities across the nation.
More than 1,600 winners nationwide were announced July 14 by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Jeremy was awarded his scholarship by the University of South Carolina. He plans to pursue a career in computer science. In addition to being a National Merit Scholar, Jeremy was recognized as a Richland One Academic All-Star.
Colleges and universities select scholarship winners from among the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program finalists who plan to attend their institutions. The awards provide $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. To date, five Richland One students have received National Merit Scholarships. Other winners were announced in May.
