Dueling Pianos Event a Resounding Success for LCCA
November 25, 2024The Laurens County Cancer Association (LCCA) hosted its second Dueling Pianos fundraising event at the Magnolia Room in the Laurens County Museum, bringing the community together to support local cancer patients. Presented by Prisma Health and Lanford Industrial Services, the event combined entertainment, heartfelt moments, and community collaboration to make a significant impact.
The evening began with a welcome from G. Ramage, President of the LCCA Board of Directors, followed by a dynamic performance by Uptown Dueling Pianos, who energized the audience with their interactive musical style.
Anna Drew Miller, Executive Director of LCCA, took the stage to thank attendees, sponsors, and partners, emphasizing the importance of community support in fulfilling LCCA’s mission. Barbara Keith, an LCCA client and employee of Lanford Industrial, shared a heartfelt testimonial about her cancer journey and the vital role LCCA has played in helping her navigate treatment and recovery.
Uptown Dueling Pianos returned for another engaging set before Jennifer Rogers, Chief Nursing Officer at Prisma Health Hillcrest and Laurens County Hospitals, spoke about the importance of healthcare partnerships and local organizations working together to support patients. Following Rogers’ remarks, LCCA volunteer Jackie Sullivan shared her journey with the organization, first as a patient in need of its services and now as a dedicated volunteer. She reflected on how being part of the LCCA’s support efforts feeds her own soul and allows her to give back to others facing similar challenges.
The event’s success was made possible by the generosity of many sponsors, including All Out Bail Bonding, Ann Cornelson, Ashley Smith-EXP Realty, Canebrake Civil, Carolina Cryogenics, the City of Laurens, Firmin Ford, G and Boo Ramage, Laurens Electric, Sadler-Hughes Apothecary, Savant Wealth Management, Upstate Insurance Consultants, and the Winestock Foundation.
The evening concluded with closing remarks from G. Ramage and Anna Drew Miller, followed by a final performance from Uptown Dueling Pianos that left attendees inspired and energized.
Reflecting on the event, Miller said, “The Magnolia Room at the LC Museum offered a beautiful setting for our event, which ran smoothly thanks to the hard work of our team, sponsors, and collaborators, including Designs by D and Blanton’s Events & Catering. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together, and I’m excited to make this an annual tradition the week before Thanksgiving.”
Proceeds from the event will help LCCA continue providing critical services to cancer patients in Laurens County, including fuel assistance, prescription reimbursements, nutritional supplements, and household essentials. With plans already underway for next year, the Dueling Pianos event is poised to grow even further, bringing the community together to make a difference.
