East Cooper names Associate of the Year

East Cooper Medical Center named Whitney Dye as its 2017 Associate of the Year.

Whitney has been a member of the East Cooper Medical Center team since 2010 and currently serves as the Preventive Maintenance Coordinator in the Engineering Department. In her role, she organizes all preventive maintenance on utility systems, HVAC, boilers, generators, and more. In order to be selected as Associate of the Year, Whitney had to first be nominated for Associate of the Quarter.

“Everyone in this hospital knows her,” read the nomination. “She is very service-oriented, takes ownership of this hospital and shows concern for everyone that comes in here and I mean EVERYONE – staff, patients, visitors, everyone!”

Whitney is very involved in the Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) and even earned a certification to teach the HERT course in South Carolina. Out of everything she accomplishes on a daily basis, Whitney says her coworkers make her proud of the work she does. “My coworkers are my family, and that makes a big difference when you spend more of your life at work than at home,” said Dye.

“So many of our team members go above and beyond their duties to assist fellow colleagues, visitors, and patients,” said Patrick Downes, chief executive officer of East Cooper Medical Center. “Whitney is a great ambassador for our hospital and it is no surprise she earned Associate of the Year. We are all very proud to have her on our team.”
