Empower Charleston awards $150,000 in grants to three local nonprofits
December 3, 2024This Giving Tuesday, Empower Charleston proudly announces its commitment of $150,000 in grant funding to three remarkable nonprofits through its Investment Program. The 2025-2026 Investees—AMOR Healing Kitchen, Beyond BASIC, and Charleston RISE—will each receive funding and strategic support over the next two years to deepen their transformative impact in the Tri-County Region.
“We are thrilled to partner with these three outstanding organizations,” said Eric Thome, Empower Charleston Chair. “Their work exemplifies the kind of innovation and dedication that drives meaningful change in our community.”
About the 2025-2026 Investees
AMOR Healing Kitchen: Empowering communities by providing nourishing meals for people facing critical health challenges.
Beyond BASIC: Assisting people with intellectual disabilities to achieve fulfillment by developing independent living skills.
Charleston RISE: Advocating for educational equity and empowering parents to create systemic change in schools.
This year’s grant recipients were chosen from six nonprofits that presented at the October Empower Charleston Showcase Event. While only three organizations could be named as Investees, all participants were inspired with their dynamic and impactful work. Empower Charleston extends its heartfelt gratitude to the generous Partners who made these grants possible. Their support ensures that local organizations have the resources to address pressing challenges and create lasting change.
