Empower Charleston Showcase raises $137,410 for six local nonprofits

Empower Charleston announced that its recent Showcase Event successfully raised $137,410 to support six impactful nonprofits serving the Tri-County region. This unique gathering brought together over 200 community leaders, philanthropists, and stakeholders to spotlight and support local organizations making a difference.

The event featured six local nonprofits, each given the opportunity to present their mission, achievements, and future goals in an engaging pitch format. The participating organizations represent a wide array of initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of individuals and local communities:

  • AMOR Healing Kitchen
  • Beyond BASIC
  • Charleston RISE
  • E3 Foundation
  • Lowcountry Youth Services
  • WakeUp Carolina

“We are thrilled with the success of the Showcase Event and the incredible generosity shown by our attendees,” said Eric Thome, Empower Charleston Board Chair. “These organizations are addressing some of our region’s most pressing issues, and we’re honored to provide a platform that amplifies their work and connects them with critical resources.”

The funds raised during the event were matched by several Empower Charleston partners and Empower Charleston will announce $150,000 in grant funding in the coming weeks. From mental health support to youth development, the diverse focus areas of these nonprofit organizations reflect Empower Charleston’s commitment to fostering a more resilient and inclusive community.
