Vincent Sheheen, Mayor of Camden

Born and raised in Camden, Vincent Sheheen brings decades of public service experience to his latest role as Mayor of the City of Camden. Sheheen represented South Carolina’s 27th District in the State Senate from 2004 to 2020 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives. A graduate of Clemson University and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Sheheen’s career as a lawyer and businessman has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to public service.

Elected to Camden City Council in November 2024, Sheheen is focused on crafting a bold and authentic vision for Camden’s future – one that celebrates its rich history while positioning it as a ‘thriving, small, Southern town where people want to visit, live, and invest.’ The vision centers on hospitality and tourism, highlighted by exciting new developments such as a 50-room boutique hotel on Main Street, expanded opportunities for downtown living, and continued investment in landmarks like the Revolutionary War Visitors Center.
