Erika DeRoberts launches Cherry Lane Art

Former Real Estate Executive Turned Creative Releases First Collection

Erika DeRoberts announced the formal launch of her new fine art business, Cherry Lane Art, in November of 2021. A resident of Fountain Inn, SC, DeRoberts left her 20-year corporate career in real estate in the fall of 2020 to pursue the creative field full time after a lifelong passion for art.

Cherry Lane Art launched with a mosaic collection entitled ‘The Sun Also Rises,’ composed of hand cut paper rectangles and squares that give the work a look similar to tile. Each piece also includes metallic and iridescent elements to mirror the aesthetic of the sunrise that inspired them. They are available for purchase, though few remain.

Like many workers in the pandemic economy, COVID-19 spurred a lifelong dream into action for DeRoberts. After abundant time spent at home with her family while remote working and supervising virtual school for her three daughters, DeRoberts had an epiphany and a desire for a simpler, slower-paced life. “I realized everything I had been missing in my two-decade real estate career and suddenly found myself baffled by the absurdity of it all. The beauty and hope from my art and creativity is something that the world desperately needs,” DeRoberts said.

Now, DeRoberts is living out her dream full time and creating beautiful pieces for others to enjoy.

In addition to her work with mosaics, DeRoberts is a painter, including live event painting, designs fabric and patterns, and enjoys teaching art classes. She is also available for limited commission opportunities.
