euphoria releases select tickets for Food, Wine and Music Festival’s 15th anniversary
April 29, 2020Select tickets for euphoria presented by Lexus, Greenville’s premier food, wine and music festival, set for September 17-20, 2020, will go on sale April 26. Festival organizers have announced some of the schedule and talent line-up, with plans to release more next month.
“We look forward to celebrating the 15th year of euphoria, even if the festival will look a little different this year,” says Executive Director Morgan Allen. “We are planning for every scenario, since this situation is constantly changing. For now, we’re releasing tickets for some of our smaller, more intimate events, like lunches, guest chef dinners & classrooms. We’ll announce additional events as we learn more about what’s being recommended for safely holding larger events amid COVID-19 concerns.”
Chef Steven Devereaux Greene returns to Greenville for a guest chef dinner at Avenue. Local restaurants Restaurant 17, Stella’s Southern Brasserie, Halls Chophouse, Oak Hill Cafe and the Loft at Soby’s, among others, will also host guest chefs for seated, multi-course lunches and dinners. euphoria classroom topics will cover everything from beer and wine to an intimate chef’s table and even a hands-on biscuit-making class, courtesy of Chadwick Boyd and Top Chef alum Carla Hall.
It wouldn’t be euphoria weekend without a handful of Michelin-starred chefs. Greenville’s Chef Shawn Kelly is set to host a guest chef at Fork & Plough on Thursday night, as is Chef Michael Kramer at Jianna on Friday. On Saturday night, Teague Moriarty (San Francisco), Emma Bengtsson (NYC) and Kyle Connaughton (Healdsburg, CA) will collaborate for Seeing Stars: A Michelin-starred Dinner.
Since Carl Sobocinski and Edwin McCain founded euphoria in 2006, the festival has made a significant impact on Greenville’s hospitality & tourism industries, as well as its economic development and quality of life. euphoria has also funded projects for more than 40 local charities that help children, provide education through music or performing arts, and work to eliminate hunger. “We are more determined than ever to stay focused on our mission: to shine a spotlight on Greenville’s thriving culinary scene, while also raising money to give back to the community,” says Allen.
“We’ve spent the last 14 years making a positive impact on our community, and now we need financial support to keep our mission alive. We will be dedicating this year’s festival to our culinary and music arts community, and all monetary donations will go directly to our grant program so we can continue to support them. You can also help us by joining our Producers Circle, purchasing VIP passes or weekend ticket packages, and signing up to volunteer during euphoria weekend.”
euphoria typically launches ticket sales at its annual Roast & Toast event, which consists of an oyster roast, light bites from several local chefs, live music and refreshing cocktails. This year’s launch, scheduled for Sunday, April 26, will be a virtual one. Kami Ocean & The Rhythm Trio will stream a live performance on euphoria’s Facebook page at 3pm, followed by the Brooks Dixon Band at 4pm. “We encourage everyone to grab takeout from their favorite local restaurant or prepare some of their favorite light bites using local ingredients, pour their favorite beverage, and join us for a virtual toast,” says Allen.
Event organizers will also be hosting a Q&A session, via Instagram stories, for guests to ask questions about this year’s festival, the schedule, etc. “We fully intend to continue with as many euphoria festivities as we can, once it is safe for us to do so,” says Allen. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone when the time is right. Until then, we will continue to support our local restaurants, farmers, purveyors, musicians and small businesses as much as we possibly can, while focusing on the things that make our community great.”
Tickets for select events go on sale Sunday, April 26. The current schedule for euphoria 2020 presented by Lexus will be available online, and will be updated as more events are added.
