4th Annual Fort Fremont Harvest Festival
November 8 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Friends of Fort Fremont will host the 4th Annual Fort Fremont Harvest Festival on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fort Fremont Preserve on St. Helena Island. The free, family-friendly event will transport visitors back to 1898 with an afternoon of period games for children and adults, live music, food, crafts, nature exhibits, history displays and other activities.
A highlight of this year’s festival will be a special appearance by President Theodore Roosevelt, who will lead children in a charge up San Juan Hill. The reenactment will bring to life the famous battle of the Spanish-American War, where Roosevelt gained national recognition for leading the Rough Riders.
Food and craft vendors will offer items for purchase. This year’s food vendors include Beedo’s and Gullah Grub.
Free shuttle service will be available from Land’s End Woodlands Road, approximately one mile from the preserve. The entrance to Fort Fremont is located at 1124 State Road S-7-45 off Lands End Road on Saint Helena Island in Beaufort County, SC
