Angels Charge – Reentry Simulation – Helping to learn about people released from Incarceration
May 16 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Angels Charge Ministry has been operating for 10 years with a Faith-Based Transitional Program. We help women from the Spartanburg County Detention and the 3 prisons for women in South Carolina. We help them start new lives after released from incarceration. If you don’t know much about us and the women we help, you can go to our website: www.angelschargeministry.org
We are excited about having a Reentry Simulation on May 16th (10am – 12pm) at the TK Gregg Community Center (650 Howard St., 29303). We are lucky to have Professor Bianca Harris who teaches Criminal Justice at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. She has worked with many places in NC to set up Reentry Simulations. She’s coming to Spartanburg on May 16th and help us with our Reentry Simulation.
Here is a brief description of what the Reentry Simulation is:
The event is divided into four 15-minute segments that each represent a week. Each participant is assigned an identity and a list of tasks to complete during the segment, including seeking employment, receiving healthcare, meeting with their parole officers, and more. Participants face several obstacles during the simulation, such as long wait times, mistreatment, and lack of resources. There are often only a few participants who successfully complete all their tasks, demonstrating how difficult it can be for the formerly incarcerated to re-enter society.
If you want to come, please send me your email and address so we can put you on our list. You can also share it with your friends, churches and businesses. ([email protected] / 864-680-1420)
