Audition for Something Rotten at Town Theatre

January 21 @ 7:30 pm - January 22 @ 10:00 pm

Welcome to the Renaissance and the outrageous, crowd-pleasing musical farce,

Something Rotten. Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing and dancing breakfast foods, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self…and all that jazz.

This show is directed by Jamie Carr Harrington, with musical direction by Amanda Hines Wrona and choreography by Christy Shealy Mills. Performances are May 10-25, 2024. Rehearsals are expected to begin the last week in February.

Please join us for auditions on Sunday, January 21 or Monday, January 22 at 7:30 PM.

Auditionees should plan to attend ONE night of auditions which will be held at the theatre. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song you love to sing. An accompanist will be provided for those who bring sheet music, but you may also audition with recorded accompaniment if needed. If using a track, please put your song on a device that can connect to Bluetooth as well as any connection cords you might need. Dress comfortably for movement and please bring your tap shoes if you have them.
