Cola Rosé Shower Turns Williams-Brice Pink on February 3

February 3 @ 3:00 pm

$75.00

3rd Annual initiative creates awareness about feminine healthcare in the Midlands

Now in its third year, the Cola Rosé Shower celebrates women by promoting awareness about feminine care issues and period poverty in the Greater Columbia community. Held at Williams-Brice Stadium’s Traditions Club (1125 George Rogers Blvd) on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3:00 PM, the event transforms Columbia’s most masculine symbol pink for a day to promote unity around the cause of feminine care.

In 2022, approximately 41% of women in the United States ages 18-64 reported having an ongoing medical condition that required monitoring, care, or medication. According to the latest Period.org research, one in three (37%) women in the United States have experienced period poverty in their lifetime.  With a number of sponsors spanning across various business sectors, Cola Rosé Shower has gained support from local champions, including: MUSC Health, Lexington Medical Center, Assurance Financial, Wesley H. Frierson, M.D., Law Offices of S. Chris Davis, 32 Dental, Kendra Scott, Pulte Homes, Dayson Shalabi Burkett Law Firm, Lugoff Chevrolet Buick GMC, Lugoff Toyota, Village Idiot, Anchor Investments, and other prominent groups.

Deonna Wylie is the founder of Cola Rosé Shower and uses her own personal story as fuel for the cause. “I have my own plight, my own story, and my own journey. After a challenging 10 years of fibroids, I was left with no choice but to have a hysterectomy at the age of 36,” Wylie remarks.

“Whether battling cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, menopause, facing a hysterectomy, or other healthcare challenges, the Cola Rosé Shower provides a place to be seen, heard, and celebrated. We bring awareness to feminine health and little-known struggles, such as period poverty. All women, despite age and ethnicity, face their own struggles or have a mother, sister, aunt, cousin or friend who can relate.”

Cola Rosé Shower impacts the lives of women with limited resources. Feminine hygiene product donations are also accepted and will benefit women who are served at Sistercare and The Period Project.

The 3rd Annual Cola Rosé Shower tickets are available for purchase through the event’s website at colaroseshower.com. Ticket donations are $75.00 and include an open bar of rosé / frosé accompanied by delicious bites by Southern Way Catering. Everyone is encouraged to wear a shade of pink as we dance the day away to hits with Shejay T.O. (Gamecocks Women’s Basketball official DJ) and witness an experience made possible by the help of À Moi Weddings, (winner of Free Times Best of Columbia 2023 Wedding Planner) and SJB Event Management.
