Cut It: Conversations Centering Black Male Mental Health

July 10, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Providing resources while highlighting the need for mental health care during National Minority Mental Health Month

Hosted by Greenville’s Racial Equity and Economic Mobility Commission

Mental health care is an essential topic for everyone, and Black men are no exception. Mental health can be incredibly challenging for Black men due to the unique social and economic pressures they face daily. It’s essential to recognize the unique stressors Black men may face, such as racism, economic insecurity, limited access to resources, and the feeling of being underrepresented and overlooked.

Although the title doubles as an OT Genasis song, Cut It is an in-person conversational series that centers on black male mental health. This safe space allows black men in Greenville and surrounding areas to share daily issues, learn more about therapists that could provide support, and debunk the stigma around black men seeking mental health support.

Facilitated by Bryant Kirk White, CEO of A Bevy, and held at Cutt’n Up  Barbershop, this men-only event prioritizes the black male experience while amplifying the needs of our community members.
