Explore the museum after-hours and kick off the holiday season

The special event includes a chance to meet Santa, see holiday shows, explore exhibitions, shop in the store and more. Showing this evening will be the new digital dome planetarium experience, Áróra, and the returning favorite Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D.

Guests are invited to stick around till the end of the evening to see the official ‘lighting’ of the planetarium dome as it is transformed into a giant snow globe with the help of our partners at Ambient Media. The dome will light up every night after dark throughout the holiday season.

General admission for this event is PAY AS YOU MAY* with non-member guests able to set their own price: $1, $5, $10 or free- it’s their choice.

4D and planetarium shows carry an additional price of $5 each.

*Proceeds from PAY AS YOU MAY will go to the South Carolina State Museum Foundation in support of museum educational programs.
