Juneteenth Screening ‘After Sherman’ and Panel Discussion at The Nick

June 19, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Beautifully layered and expressionistic, After Sherman is a story about inheritance and the tension that defines the collective American history, especially Black history. Join us June 19 for a screening of this film and a panel discussion afterwards featuring the film’s director Jon-Sesrie Goff, and professor at USC Dr. Bobby Donaldson. The discussion will be moderated by film producer and media educator Sherard “Shekeese” Duvall.

Sponsored by the Center for Civil Rights History and Research at the University of South Carolina, this event is free to attend. Partnering with the Center for Civil Rights History and Research gives The Nick the opportunity to provide a space for the community to gather and engage with prominent thought leaders, activists, and community advocates as they delve into thought-provoking topics surrounding social justice, equality, and the ongoing fight for civil rights.
