Main Street Laurens is gearing up for an exciting evening of entertainment and community engagement this Friday, May 10, with their popular It’s Finally Friday event. As part of their ongoing efforts to revitalize downtown Laurens, Main Street Laurens is hosting a lineup of lively activities and performances that promise fun for the whole family.

Craig Scharton, director of Main Street Laurens, emphasized the importance of these downtown events in bolstering community support for local businesses. “Why does Main Street Laurens host downtown events? We are a downtown revitalization organization with 16 volunteer board members,” Scharton explained. “We put on events to bring people downtown to support our downtown businesses.”

The event kicks off at 6:00 PM with a dance performance sponsored by Studio 55. Titled “Spring with Studio 55,” this showcase promises to entertain spectators with talent and creativity.

Following the dance performance, the City of Laurens is proud to sponsor an electrifying musical act at 7:00 PM featuring the Swingin’ Medallions, renowned for their infectious beach music. Get ready to dance the night away to classic tunes that will transport you to a sun-soaked beach.

Scharton emphasized, “Downtown revitalization is ultimately up to the support from our community. We need you and are grateful for you.” He encouraged everyone to arrive early and explore the charming shops around the Square, perhaps finding the perfect Mother’s Day gift or enjoying a delightful dinner at one of the local eateries.
