BHDD Hosts Free Community Event in Spartanburg for Suicide Prevention Month

WHAT: The BHDD Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center is hosting a free family event with:
• a coat giveaway
• games and door prizes
• live entertainment by DJ Rain
• children’s activities provided by the Children’s Museum of the Upstate
• a community resource area

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

WHERE: Dr. T.K. Gregg Community Center, 650 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303

DETAILS: Staff from BHDD’s Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center organized the event. The center’s FOCUS youth crisis program collected more than 200 coats for the giveaway, which honors former program administrator Michelle Kelley.

“We encourage everyone to come out, connect with community resources, and enjoy a day of fun, support and hope,” said Dr. Ebony Gaffney, center director.
