Explore Clinton – July Edition is a Wrap

July 4, 2021

Mainstreet Clinton is hosting a series of music events on the first Thursday of each month during the summer and interest in the events is growing.

Last week for the July 1st event the weather was milder than normal, and the crowd came ready for good food and music.

With larger than expected crowds, Palmetto Meat Company sold out of their barbeque and just one look at the plates they were serving you can understand why.

The musical entertainment was provided by City of Clinton firefighter and local musician Hastings Stewart.  Fire Chief Phillip Russell introduced Stewart and then asked for a moment of silence in memory of Hunter Sipes, a young firefighter who recently passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained in a hit and run accident.  Following the moment of silence, Stewart dedicated a version of Amazing Grace to the fallen firefighter.

Vance Park was full.  Full of families, kids, fun, food and music.

Next up is Thursday, August 5th. The Groovy Granny food truck will be onsite, and music will be provided by Josh Owens.  Come on out to Vance Park, you don’t want to miss it.
