Export Training Prepares Local Companies for Global Commerce

CHARLESTON, SC – Business leaders interested in selling products and services internationally will receive intensive training and a customized export plan through the Export Training program provided by World Trade Center Charleston (WTCC), a division of the  Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. The next training session begins February 9, 2015, with four day-long sessions scheduled in February and March.

Export training sessions are limited to leaders of six companies, allowing for personalized attention and customization. Training is conducted by a nationally acclaimed trainer of import-export compliance and procedures, and is conducted in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service, the S.C. Department of Commerce, the S.C. District Export Council and the S.C. Small Business Development Center.

During training sessions, participants will learn how to start or expand their export markets, as well as, trade regulations and trade resources. Specifics include learning marketing techniques for international markets, international banking and payment options, licensing, legal issues, regulations, record keeping, logistics and more.

Participants will have one-on-one meetings with successful exporters, and will have coaches to assist in the development of a customized export plan. Access to coaches continues after the program to assist with export plan implementation.

Tuition for the export program is $1750.00 per company, which allows for two corporate leaders to attend. Cost covers the four day-long sessions, lunches, training materials and in-class consulting services. Scholarships are available, and participation is limited to Chamber members.
