Fairy House Day at Palmetto Islands County Park set for Jan. 24
December 11, 2025The popular family event Fairy House Day returns to Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park on Saturday, Jan. 24! Kids of all ages are invited to join Charleston County Parks for the greatest, tiniest building project ever.
Fairy House Day celebrates fairies, gnomes, nature discovery, creative expression, and family fun. The adorable fairies and mischievous gnomes of Palmetto Islands County Park are back, and they need kids’ creative sparkle to build them new, cozy and enchanting houses and homes. Participants will use non-living treasures like twigs, leaves, moss, pebbles and anything else Mother Nature has to offer to create magical miniature mansions.
Two time slots will be available for registration: from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and from 12 – 2 p.m. Space is limited and the event is expected to sell out, so participants are encouraged to register in advance. Registration is $7 per person and is available at CharlestonCountyParks.com (direct link).
Event highlights include the chance to build a fairy house, plus story time hosted by the Charleston County Public Library, a kids’ nature craft, a kids’ bubble area, and live kids’ music from The V-Tones. A “real” fairy will also be on site for photos! Children are encouraged to come dressed as a fairy or gnome for extra fun. Food truck fare will be available for purchase on site, and face painting for an additional fee as well. An American Sign Language Interpreter will be on site for story time.
Registration includes park admission fee. All family members must register in order to attend, and a chaperone is required to remain on site with children. Pets are permitted, but must remain on a leash. Accessible parking, restrooms, picnic tables and sensory bags will be available on site.
