Familiar Faces, New Places: Johnny Warren, Cameron Stoll Join Womble Carlyle

June 4, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC—Long-time Charleston lawyer Johnny Warren and attorney Cameron Stoll have joined Womble Carlyle’s Charleston office.

Warren and Stoll have more than 50 years of combined experience practicing law in the Charleston market, representing clients in general corporate matters, mergers & acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions and banking law.

In Womble Carlyle, Warren and Stoll join a firm that traces its Charleston roots back to 1827. The firm’s Charleston office opened in 2011 via a merger with Buist Moore Smythe McGee P.A.

“We’re very familiar with and have a lot of respect for Womble Carlyle’s Charleston office and the firm in general,” Warren said. He added that the firm’s resources—more than 500 attorneys in 14 offices, service clients in a broad range of practice areas—will benefit the clients he and Stoll now serve.

“The service our clients have come to expect won’t change a bit,” Stoll said. “What will change is that we can offer our clients a tremendous array of new resources, if they need them.”

Warren is ranked as a top attorney in the banking, corporate and real estate fields by both Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America.

In addition to their legal experience, Warren and Stoll also bring an extensive track record of community service to Womble Carlyle. Warren has served on the Board of Directors for both Roper Hospital and Spoleto Festival USA and served as President of the Boards of Historic Charleston Foundation and the College of Charleston Foundation. An avid supporter of music and the arts, Warren has served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra twice (1985-86 and 2010-12). Stoll serves as a Guardian Ad Litem for the South Carolina Guardian Ad Litem program and is a member of the Steering Committee for Charleston Symphony Orchestra Remix.

“Johnny and Cameron are no strangers to us—we’ve known and respected them for years,” said Chuck Baker, Managing Partner of Womble Carlyle’s Charleston office. “We are pleased to have them join the Womble Carlyle team.”

Warren and Stoll previously practiced at Warren & Sinkler.
