Famously Hot New Year 2015 to be Broadcast Live on WLTX-TV

COLUMBIA, SC – Famously Hot New Year, South Carolina’s largest free New Year’s Eve celebration, announces a partnership with WLTX-TV, who will broadcast the celebration on Main Street beginning at 11:35 p.m. on December 31.
In cooperation with #FHNY, WLTX will broadcast live from the street party in downtown Columbia, providing Midlands’ viewers with an up-close look at the excitement, including the colossal fireworks display at midnight that will welcome 2015. In advance of the event, News 19 will also air stories about Famously Hot New Year, its role in the revitalization of Main Street and downtown Columbia and highlight new #FHNY events in store for 2015, including the Main Street Crit and WOW Kids Carnival.
In its fourth year, Famously Hot New Year 2015’s free street party will feature live music on stage by major national acts. This year, the #FHNY celebration will be headlined by American treasures The O’Jays. Opening acts include MisterWives and local reggae/rock favorites Lefty at the Washout will kick off the concert at 7:30 p.m.Famously Hot New Year also includes the most colossal New Year’s Eve fireworks display in the two Carolinas, which will light up the night with the picturesque South Carolina State Capitol in the backdrop.

The Midlands and this region has grown so much that we’re excited to bring viewers a taste of our street party and what’s going on right here at home. Famously Hot New Year looks forward to a long relationship with WLTX.”
