Field surveyors at the US 17A Main Street Improvements project site

The US 17A Main Street Improvements Project is underway! The project includes improvements to US Highway 17A (Main Street) in Summerville between Carolina Avenue and Luke Avenue to improve safety and traffic flow along the corridor. The Town of Summerville’s Main Street Resiliency Project extends from Luke Avenue to US Highway 78. Dorchester County and the Town of Summerville will continue coordinating closely on the two projects as they progress.

Field surveys will begin on April 1. Residents can expect to see project team working in the area to collect data. Residents are reminded to drive slowly and be mindful of the team as they work to begin improvements.
