McDonnell and Associates, PA was founded in 2003 by Edward (“Ed”) G. McDonnell. The firm first began its practice in Columbia, SC with a team of just two people, including Ed and one paralegal, and now exceeds 100 employees. Over the years, the firm expanded its practices in other areas of law, including but not limited to: corporate law, estate planning, family law, criminal law, DUI defense and licensing law.

McDonnell and Associates has been a long-time advocate for innovation in the workplace. Added to the firm’s progressions was its logo color change from a bold royal blue to a refreshing emerald green; a component of the firm’s recent “Going Green, Going Digital!” initiative. In early 2018, the firm proudly introduced the implementation of e-closings and e-recording which facilitates a streamlined transactional process while keeping the firm competitive with its ever-evolving market. Green not only represents going digital, but a revolutionary movement for real estate transactions.
Still, since its inception, McDonnell and Associates has been among the most unique of law firms in terms of its business model for closings and client convenience. For 15 years, the firm has employed traveling attorneys enabling mobile real estate transactions. This concept has transformed the closing process to meet the modern day needs of scheduling flexibility and convenience for the client.
