Fill the Cruiser School Supply Drive Raises Over $2,800 for Local Students

July 14, 2025

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office wrapped up another successful Fill the Cruiser school supply drive this weekend, thanks to the generosity of the local community and several dedicated partners. The annual event, held once again at Chick-fil-A Laurens County, brought in more than $2,800 in donations and a large quantity of school supplies to help students in need throughout Laurens County.

“We had a fantastic turnout this year,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. “It’s always inspiring to see how our community comes together to make sure children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.”

In addition to individual donations from generous patrons, local organizations played a key role in the success of the drive. American Legion Post 25, M&M Scrap Metal, and Mr. Curlee were all recognized by the Sheriff’s Office for their significant contributions.

One standout moment came when a passerby, seeing deputies shopping for supplies, spontaneously purchased 48 backpacks and additional school supplies to help the cause.

“This is truly a community effort,” Snow added. “It takes teamwork, and we are grateful for every individual and business who stepped up to help.”

The donations will help ensure that children in Laurens County have the necessary supplies for a successful school year.
