The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina offers the best international course experience for MBA students in the world, according to the Financial Times 2017 Global MBA Rankings released Monday (Jan. 30).

The annual ranking is based on the most recent graduating MBA class’ completed exchanges, research projects, study tours and company internships in countries other than where the school is based.

“We are honored that the Darla Moore School of Business has been recognized as the world’s top MBA program for international course experience in the 2017 Financial Times ranking,” said Dean Peter Brews. “The Moore School continues to be innovative in how we prepare students for work in markets around the world. We are working to ensure our graduates have both a global market and the hard and soft skills necessary to make effective decisions as a business leader in the global marketplace.”

The Moore School also ranked No. 2 in the U.S. for international mobility and No. 8 for salary percentage increase. Additionally, the school ranked No. 2 and in percentage of female students in the U.S. and the world. Among U.S.-based MBA programs it ranked No. 18 among public universities and No. 38 among both private and public institutions. Data for the rankings was drawn from surveys of the business schools and their 2013 graduates.

Kendall Roth, senior associate dean of international programs and partnerships, says the top international course experience ranking reflects a deep commitment to providing graduate students with a holistic business and international experience that prepares them for the most competitive corporate internships in the world.

Central to a Moore School International MBA education is its language requirement. It is the only U.S. program ranked by Financial Times to require a second language of students and one of 11 in the world to do so. The news organization ranked the Moore School No. 77 overall for global MBA programs.

The Financial Times rankings are the latest accolades for the Moore School. The business school also ranks No. 1 in undergraduate and graduate international business (U.S. News & World Report), No. 7 and No. 15, respectively in undergraduate and graduate global supply chain and operations management (Gartner), and in the top 25 for professional MBA programs (U.S. News & World Report). Additionally, the Moore School has the country’s fourth largest risk management and insurance school (Business Insurance).
