Fireflies Baseball to air on ESPN Columbia

94.9 FM and 1230 AM the New Radio Home of Fireflies Baseball in 2017

The Columbia Fireflies full 140-game schedule will be broadcast on ESPN Radio Columbia this season through the Alpha Media Radio Broadcast Company. All home and away games can be heard on 94.9 FM and 1230 AM locally. Every game can also be heard on ColumbiaFireflies.com or through the TuneIn App. All broadcasts this season will begin 15 minutes before first pitch with the Fireflies Pregame Show.

“Our broadcast partnership with ESPN Columbia is a phenomenal fit,” said Fireflies President John Katz. “We’re excited for our loyal and passionate listeners around the Midlands to join us on 94.9 and 1230 AM, and for our fans around the country and across the world to be able to stream our broadcasts to wherever they may be.”

Kevin Fitzgerald returns for his second season as the voice of the Fireflies and Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. Sam Hyman joins Kevin on the air this season after serving as the play-by-play voice of University of Vermont men’s basketball.

 

Opening Night 2017

Opening Night at Spirit Communications Park is April 6 at 7:05 p.m. against the Augusta GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants). Due to the high demand for Opening Night, the Fireflies are also excited to offer a Picnic in the Park ticket and dinner package for $25. The Picnic in the Park package comes with seating at a table on the Palmetto Pavilion down the right-field line, and includes all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken, house-made pulled pork, Pepsi products and sides from 6:00-7:30 p.m. A limited quantity of these tickets is now available for purchase in person at the box office, or by calling the Fireflies at 803-726-4487.

A limited number of Concourse Passes for Opening Night are still available for $5. These tickets are great for fans that prefer to mix and mingle, or to sit / stand along one of the many drink rails surrounding the concourse. Individual game tickets for the remainder of the 2017 season, including the 2017 South Atlantic League All-Star Game on June 20 and the Total Eclipse of the Park on August 21, are on sale now and begin at $5 for the Bojangles’ Berm, $9 for reserved seats, and $10 for Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union All-Star seats. The Fireflies are currently taking reservations for season ticket packages, including full-season (70 games), half-season (35 games), quarter-season (17 games) and mini-season packages (12 games).
