First Presbyterian Church of Clinton Offers Blue Christmas Service of Hope and Healing
December 17, 2024The holiday season, often marked by joy and celebration, can be an especially difficult time for those experiencing grief or loss. To provide a space for reflection and comfort, First Presbyterian Church of Clinton will host a Blue Christmas Worship Service on Thursday, December 19th, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in their sanctuary located at 410 E. Carolina Avenue.
Blue Christmas, also referred to as the Longest Night, is rooted in the Western Christian tradition and corresponds to the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. This special service acknowledges the challenges many face during the holidays and offers a time of worship focused on healing, hope, and remembrance.
The Blue Christmas service is a welcoming, supportive opportunity for anyone in the community who may be struggling with grief, loss, or hardship during the season. Whether mourning a loved one or navigating other difficulties, attendees are encouraged to “come as you are” and find solace in this meaningful gathering.
First Presbyterian Church invites all who seek a peaceful space to reflect and receive comfort during this time. The service provides a gentle reminder that even amid darkness, there is light and hope.
