First Reliance Bank and community partners made dreams come true for a Lexington School District Four student
November 1, 2021First Reliance Bank is a community bank in all aspects of the term. The longtime Florence, S.C. headquartered bank serves communities all over South and North Carolina by providing expert financial advice, premier financial products and services and through its commitment to first-in-class customer service. All those aspects make First Reliance Bank a competitive choice for anyone looking for a local financial partner.
However, First Reliance Bank takes community banking one step further. The bank recently worked with a local school district in a community near one of its Columbia-area branches to help make an exceptional needs student’s dream come true. The student, Nicholas Lee, is a car enthusiast in the town of Gaston and has a deep-seated love of Lamborghinis.
Lee is set to graduate from high school this year, which is a testament to his hard work, dedication and persistence. In recognition of the time and effort Lee put into making graduation a reality, Donna Smith, vice president for consumer lending at First Reliance Bank, and a local teacher, Becky Zeigler, at Sandhills Elementary School came up with an idea to make Lee’s day. The two developed and coordinated a plan that made Friday, October 29, 2021 a memorable day in Lee’s high school career.
First Reliance Bank also coordinated with Rock and Roll Dealership, a local client of the bank, to help make Lee’s dream become a reality.
Early Friday morning, Cameron Neal, owner of the dealership, picked up Lee in a Lamborghini to take him to Swansea High School.
His parents, Melissa and Chris, expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to Neal and Smith for making their son’s dream come true. Lee hopes to travel to Texas to visit the Lamborghini factory upon graduation.
“As a community bank, we want to use our resources and connections to make our locals dreams come true in all aspects,” Smith said. “We are so lucky and thankful for the community partners we serve for being so willing to help. We are specifically thankful for Cameron Neal at Rock and Roll Dealership for providing his time, resources and making Nicholas’s day.”
