Mitchell of the New Orleans office is the newsletter’s editor. He said, “We’re pleased to have received this outstanding recognition. Many of our clients tell us the Labor Letter is viewed as a ‘must read,’ and we are very serious about producing a quality product for them each and every month.”
The Burton Awards for Legal Achievement are given in association with the Library of Congress. The criteria for selecting the best newsletter include the writing style and technique, research, analysis and content. Winners are selected by a panel of law school professors representing some of the nation’s most prestigious law schools, as well as leading legal professionals and members of the judiciary.
This year marks the 10th anniversary for the national program. Recipients will be honored during a dinner June 15 at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
William C. Burton, a practicing attorney and founder and chairman of the Burton Awards, said, “The competition among law firm newsletters was the most intense we’ve ever seen. The Fisher & Phillips Labor Letter has surpassed our highest standards.”
Fisher & Phillips Chairman and Managing Partner Roger Quillen said, “We developed our newsletters as a way to use straightforward language to help our clients understand how new and changing laws impact the workplace. Our clients have long appreciated the quality information that our attorneys deliver through this and our other newsletters.
