Five Clemson University alumni to receive Distinguished Service Award

CLEMSON, SC — The Clemson Alumni Association has announced five recipients of the Distinguished Service Award, the alumni association’s highest alumni honor.
“The Distinguished Service Award honors individuals who are dedicated to enhancing the quality and value of our university. I want to personally thank our award-winners for giving so generously of their time and talents for professional and public service. Their personal accomplishments serve as a wonderful model for our current and future students,” said Clemson President James P. Clements.
This year’s award recipients are:
- Gerald M. Glenn of The Woodlands, Texas, class of 1964, a highly successful engineer and loyal Clemson alumnus who uses his position to promote his alma mater and its students;
- Norman F. Pulliam Sr. of Spartanburg, class of 1964, a community leader and long-time supporter of Clemson who established the Clemson Masters of Real Estate Development program;
- Gregg F. Morton of Clemson, class of 1978, who helped generate more than $1 million in gifts and was integral in securing funding for the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) facility;
- Charles C. Mickel of Greenville, class of 1979, a tireless supporter of Clemson who is highly accomplished in the field of real estate and was instrumental in the establishment of CU-ICAR; and
- Robert J. “Bobby” Conrad Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., class of 1980, a Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame athlete who became a distinguished attorney and judge.
The awards will be presented March 27.
