The latest permanent art installation by artist, Shelby LeBlanc, unveiled in the Five Points district

The Five Points Association hosted an official unveiling reception of their newest permanent art installation, by award-winning artist, Shelby LeBlanc, on Saturday, July 13. The mural, “A Splash of Color” is located at 745 Saluda Avenue in the heart of the historic hospitality district.

“We are honored to have such a beautiful, unique and stunning creation here in our district by such a talented artist,” says Heather McDonald, executive director of the Five Points Association. “It is our hope that this mural will be enjoyed by many for years to come.”

Inspired by butterfly goldfish, tranquil waterlilies, spirited frogs, and the majestic blue heron, the mural portrays themes of transformation and overcoming difficulties. Painted meticulously for over six hundred hours, it invites viewers into an immersive experience, evoking the sensation of water splashing and spilling onto the ground.

“This mural is more than just a visual spectacle; it is a reflection of the collective spirit of resilience and transformation that defines our surroundings. Through its imagery and symbolism, it encourages viewers to contemplate their own paths of growth and change, embracing the beauty that emerges from life’s challenges.” – Shelby LeBlanc, Artist
