Folly Beach Association of Business appoints Festival and Event Coordinator: Experienced Event Planner and Folly resident, Kelly Russ, takes the reigns on Folly’s Festivals

November 15, 2017
The Folly Beach Association of Business (FAB) has hired a new Event Coordinator to manage all FAB sponsored festivals and events. The organization announced last week that they have chosen experienced event manager and Folly resident, Kelly Russ for the position.

FAB issued a request for proposal (RFP) in early fall which led to eight quality candidates submitting proposals to manage all aspects of the events including logistics, vendors and sponsorships. “We received amazing proposals from the candidates which made the decision process very difficult,” says FAB president, Lewis Dodson. “They each had great ideas on how to address the challenges that come with large festivals as well as creative ways to enhance the events.”

After interviews with each candidate, the FAB board and officers feel confident that Russ is the right person for the job. Dodson says, “Ultimately we chose Kelly for a variety of reasons including her vast experience, her unique ideas to develop the individuality of our events and her ability to integrate seamlessly with FAB’s board and members.”

Kelly Russ is an independent consultant with over nine years of experience coordinating and managing events of various scopes and scales. She has served as the co-director of Follypalooza Cancer Benefit since 2008 and brings an intimate knowledge of executing successful events both on and off of Folly Beach.
