Food Bank of Greenwood County announces name change and rebranding initiative to reflect growth and expanded mission

July 21, 2025

The Food Bank of Greenwood County has officially rebranded, revealing a new name, logo, and tagline that reflect the organization’s growth and deepened commitment to the entire Lakelands region.

Now operating as the Food Bank of the Lakelands, the nonprofit’s updated brand identity aligns with its expanded service area, which includes seven counties: Greenwood, Abbeville, Edgefield, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry, and Saluda.

The new tagline, “Serving the Lakelands. Nourishing Local Communities,” more accurately represents the organization’s regional reach and healthy approach to food access, nutrition education, and wellness initiatives, including its on-site Soup Kitchen.

“Updating our name, logo and brand identity is a reflection of how far we’ve come,” said Andrea White, Executive Director. “We’re proud of our roots in Greenwood County, but we’ve grown into something much larger. This rebrand is a natural next step as we continue to serve and support families across the entire Lakelands region.”

Over the past 42 years, the organization has expanded its reach, programs, and partnerships. From traditional food distribution to mobile pantries, nutrition education, and community wellness initiatives, the organization’s mission has broadened beyond food access alone. The new name, logo, and visual identity captures this evolution and positions the organization for continued innovation and impact.

While the look and name are changing, the heart of the organization remains steadfast. The Food Bank of the Lakelands will continue to serve thousands of families across Lakelands with the same compassion, dedication, and commitment to ending hunger and supporting thriving communities.

“We are honoring our past while embracing the future,” said Audra Irick, Board Chair. “This rebrand allows us to more clearly communicate who we are and why we exist—to serve.”
