Forbes ranks Richland One among South Carolina’s best employers

Forbes has named Richland One as one of the best employers to work for in South Carolina.

Fifty-five South Carolina employers made the magazine’s 2025 ranking; Richland One was ranked 44^th and is one of only eight school districts and one of only two Midlands districts on the list.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 160,000 employees who work for a company with least 500 U.S. employees. Respondents were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer to others on a scale of zero to 10. They were also asked to evaluate their workplace based on criteria including wage parity, work culture and paths to professional advancement.

According to Forbes, survey responses and company benchmarks were then incorporated into a weighted scoring system, with the highest-scoring companies in each state making the final rankings. Overall, 1,417 companies were featured on at least one state list.
