Founders of the iconic local food hub Swamp Rabbit Café & Grocery to speak at Endeavor’s Collaborators & Cocktails – October 18

October 5, 2018

Duo’s shared passion for local farmers created a loyal community of brand ambassadors with a love for healthy, active lifestyles and quality food

Endeavor, a coworking space for creatives, agencies and corporate marketing teams in the heart of downtown, announces that Swamp Rabbit Café & Grocery co-founders Mary Walsh and Jac Oliver will speak at its next Collaborators & Cocktails speaker series on October 18, 2018. The entrepreneurs sparked a local food revolution when they opened seven years ago, and in that time have built arguably one of the strongest community-oriented brands in the Upstate.

Oliver and Walsh founded the Swamp Rabbit Café & Grocery to help create a healthier community by providing easy access to quality food in an area that was then considered a food desert. Neither of them had entrepreneurial experience or had run a grocery store, but they shared a passion for local farmers and artisans and wanted to connect them with people who had an affinity for quality food. They have built a brand synonymous with a healthy, active lifestyle that has become a way of life for their loyal and growing customer base.

Prior to opening Swamp Rabbit Café & Grocery, Oliver was a civil engineer and Walsh was a land-use protection biologist at Upstate Forever, a Greenville-based conservation group.

Attendees will hear the story of their collaborative career change, the challenges they’ve faced, and how they used all the marketing tools at their disposal to create passionate ambassadors that any brand would envy.

Collaborators & Cocktails starts with networking at 5 p.m., with the presentation and Q&A session at 5:45 p.m. The event is free to all Endeavor members and corporate members, with a limited number of advance purchased guest tickets available for $30. Registration is required. No walk-ins are accepted. Contact [email protected] for ticket information.
