Fountain Inn Announces Road Closures and Delays for Paving Project

March 31, 2026

Fountain Inn residents and commuters should plan for traffic disruptions this week as the City of Fountain Inn begins a paving project tied to ongoing underground utility work.

According to the City, drivers can expect road closures and delays from March 30 through April 3, with specific streets impacted on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, March 31, Jones Street (from Main Street to Weston Street) will close beginning at 5:00 a.m. until work is completed. Once that work concludes, crews will move to Fairview Street (also from Main Street to Weston Street), with closures expected to occur the same day.

On Wednesday, April 1, Trade Street (from Main Street to Weston Street) will temporarily close starting at 5:00 a.m. and remain closed until paving operations are complete.

In addition to these full closures, drivers may encounter temporary one-lane closures on other streets throughout the city as crews continue work across multiple areas.

City officials note that all paving activities are expected to be completed by the end of the week, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and exercise caution when traveling through work zones.

The paving project is part of ongoing efforts to improve road conditions and infrastructure across Fountain Inn.
