Fountain Inn K9 Teams Excel at National Narcotic Detector Dog Association’s National Competition
March 15, 2024The Fountain Inn Police Department proudly announces the exceptional performance of its K9 teams at the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association’s (NNDDA) National Competition held in Warner Robbins, Georgia. The competition, which took place from February 29 to March 4, 2024, showcased the skills and capabilities of police service dogs nationwide.
Both K9 teams representing the Fountain Inn Police Department demonstrated outstanding proficiency and ability throughout the competition, earning prestigious awards and recognition.
Officer Kunz and his K9 partner, Deuce, displayed remarkable talent and teamwork, securing the following awards:
- 1st Place in Narcotics: Awarded based on points received during the narcotics competition, highlighting their exceptional detection abilities.
- Top Gun Award: Recognizing the outstanding performance of a first-time competitor in the competition, showcasing the promising talent of Officer Kunz and K9 Deuce.
Additionally, Officer Atwood and his seasoned K9 partner, Chops, showcased their expertise and experience, earning the following accolades:
- 2nd Place in Narcotics: Acknowledging their proficiency in narcotics detection, as demonstrated by their impressive performance during the competition.
- Bark, Bandit, Trooper Award: Presented to the best-performing canine over seven years of age, underscoring the enduring skill and dedication of Officer Atwood and K9 Chops.
Furthermore, the Fountain Inn Police Department received the esteemed “Top Team Award” for achieving the highest combined scores among agency teams, reaffirming the department’s commitment to excellence in K9 operations.
