October 4, 2018

Four Richland One seniors have been named Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program, one of the country’s most prestigious academic recognition programs.

Richland One congratulates the following seniors for their selection as Commended Students:

  • John F. Chapman, A.C. Flora High School
  • Celeste Johnson, Dreher High School
  • Thomas Johnson, Dreher High School
  • Zuri Gilmore-Stevenson, Dreher High School

Commended Students are recognized for exceptional academic promise and will be presented a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Although they will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students score in the top 2-3% of the 1.6 million students nationwide who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) as juniors in October 2017.
