Free two-day community health clinic to be held in Greenville

February 5, 2026

A free two-day, pop-up health clinic will provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision services to community members at no cost.

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG) will host its fourth annual Remote Area Medical (RAM) health clinic on February 14-15, 2026.

The event is organized by a volunteer team of medical students at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and will be held at the school’s campus, 607 Grove Road, Greenville. The School of Medicine Greenville and Remote Area Medical (RAM)®, a Knoxville, Tennessee-based nonprofit that provides free, quality healthcare to those in need are teaming up to put together the annual clinic.

“The clinic, which we’ll be hosting at SOMG on February 14th and 15th, is our opportunity to give back to the Greenville community,” said Ben Meyer, a second year SOMG medical student and community host group co-leader for the clinic. “We’re able to offer medical, dental, and vision care to anyone in attendance, completely free of charge, thanks to the generous support of local businesses, Prisma Health, USC, and hundreds of volunteers all coming together to support the goal of health equity.”

Since 2023, the free, pop-up clinic held annually by School of Medicine Greenville and RAM has served more than 700 community members, providing $500,000 worth of free care.

“Since launching South Carolina’s first full-scale RAM clinic in March 2023, SOMG medical students have served as the community host group for this vital healthcare initiative, organizing and coordinating the annual event to address critical healthcare gaps in the Upstate region,” said Dr. Jennifer Springhart, assistant professor and director of community engagement at SOMG.

The work of putting on a pop-up clinic takes a dedicated team of students at the medical school in partnership with the professionals with RAM. Prisma Health also partners in the clinic, providing facilities and physician volunteers who help provide free care.
