From Coastal to Clemson, stacked field set to compete in MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate

September 8, 2025

Sixteen men’s golf teams from across the country are set to compete in the second annual MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate, September 7–9 at the acclaimed Grande Dunes Resort Course.

Hosted by Coastal Carolina University, the reigning Sun Belt Conference champions, the 54-hole event will feature a strong field that includes teams from the Big Ten and Atlantic Coast conferences.

Joining Coastal in the 2025 tournament are Appalachian State, Florida Gulf Coast, Campbell, East Carolina, Elon, Maryland, Jacksonville, Clemson, Texas State, High Point, Old Dominion, Kennesaw State, VCU, Florida Atlantic, and Charleston Southern.

Grande Dunes, which features five holes that play along the Intracoastal Waterway, is widely regarded as one of golf-rich South Carolina’s premier public layouts. The course can play up to 7,600 yards long and it features some of the area’s most creative greens complexes, allowing a lot of latitude in the way the course is set up.

The MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate will serve as the season opener, providing teams an early opportunity to evaluate lineups and begin building their NCAA tournament résumés. Three programs in this year’s field—Coastal, Florida Gulf Coast, and Elon—qualified for NCAA Regional play this past spring.

Coastal will be led by English standouts Drew Sykes and Jack Lee. Sykes, an All-Sun Belt third-team selection as a freshman, posted a 72.67 scoring average last year, while Lee secured the Chanticleers’ first Sun Belt title by draining the winning putt in a sudden-death playoff.

Clemson is expected to arrive in Myrtle Beach with a freshman-heavy roster after signing the nation’s seventh-ranked recruiting class, highlighted by Jackson Byrd, son of five-time PGA Tour winner Jonathan Byrd.
