Garvin Design Group welcomes two new team members

Brittany Lapple and Eric Bell
Garvin Design Group announced the recent hire of two new teammates, architectural interns Brittany Lapple and Eric Bell.
Brittany grew up in Middle Island, New York and graduated from Clemson University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a minor in Horticulture. As part of Clemson’s Lowcountry Digital Preservation Institute, Brittany trained in digital approaches to documenting and preserving 18th and 19th century buildings and landscapes in Charleston’s historic district and neighboring Lowcountry plantations. She cultivated her horticultural talents as an intern at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York, a 400-acre “Gold Coast” estate designed by Guy Lowell and the Olmsted Brothers, among others. Brittany’s role as landscape design intern afforded her experience maintaining historic plant collections in the estate’s arboretum and greenhouses.
A native of Columbia, Eric also graduated from Clemson University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. He spent one of his last semesters as an undergraduate student in Genoa, Italy, a formative experience that Eric anticipates will leave lasting impressions on his academic and professional development. Among Eric’s scholastic interests are how the different facets of architectural design shape our historical and cultural identities, and what architecture means on a global scale. An avid reader, Eric is a life-long learner and continues to pursue his interest in how perceptions of international architecture and the modern architect change over time.
“We are always excited about the fresh insight and creativity that new graduates bring to Garvin Design Group,” said Scott Garvin, the firm’s President, “We can’t wait to experience what Eric and Brittany contribute to our team.”
